Role Overview This role sits at the intersection of Talent Acquisition and People Operations and is designed to support the company as it scales. The position is primarily focused on recruiting coordination and support, with additional responsibility for People Operations generalist work. The role partners closely with hiring managers, the Head of People, and recruiters to deliver a high quality candidate and employee experience while building scalable people processes. Recruiting is the core function of this role and is expected to account for approximately 50 to 75 percent of the overall scope. Talent Acquisition Recruiting Operations and Coordination Support a team of 2 recruiters in the full recruiting lifecycle. Manage end to end hiring for assigned requisitions, including coordination, scheduling, and candidate communication. Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates, delivering a thoughtful, responsive, and consistent experience. Ensure a consistent and engaging candidate experience across all touchpoints. Review resumes and applications to identify strong matches aligned with role requirements and company values. Collaborate with the People team to develop and own employer branding initiatives. Systems, Tools, and Documentation Own day to day management of the ATS, Ashby, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and up to date documentation. Leverage AI tools to improve recruiting and People Ops workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and find smarter ways to get things done. Help craft, edit, and post job descriptions across relevant platforms. People Operations Support Culture & Employee Experience Culture is a meaningful part of this role. We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the kind of company we are building and wants to be an active contributor to it. This person will help shape the day-to-day experience of working at Sydecar. Plan and execute culture programs and events, including company offsites, team events, and employee recognition initiatives. Support internal communications that keep employees informed, connected, and engaged. Help design and deliver an onboarding experience that sets the right cultural tone from day one and helps new hires feel welcomed and set up for success. People Operations Support Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth and consistent employee experience. Assist with performance management processes, including cycle coordination and documentation. Help coordinate learning and development programs and logistics. Partner with the Head of People on People Operations projects and initiatives as the company scales.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in recruiting coordination, talent sourcing, HR, or a related People Operations role.
  • High growth/startup experience is a strong preference. We're a small/fast growing team.
  • Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day work and genuinely curious about how to apply them to improve systems and processes - not just familiar with AI, but actively uses it.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - you keep things moving and nothing falls through the cracks.
  • A people-first mindset with genuine enthusiasm for candidate and employee experience.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where priorities can shift.
  • Experience with an ATS (we use Ashby) and general comfort with HR and productivity tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
