Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Utilizing program management techniques to oversee requirements such as budget, cost control and schedules; Managing employees, assigning work, setting priorities, and evaluating performance; Representing a program on all technical and policy issues related to contract planning, awards, execution, administration and closeouts; and Overseeing large-scale information technology and business solution contracts to achieve this organizational mission in terms of scale and timing. Education: cannot be substituted at this level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
