The role provides solutions to a variety of complex technical problems of diverse scope, requiring analysis and evaluation of multiple factors. This role collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, design solutions, configure modules, and provide ongoing support to ensure the smooth operation of the Information System. This senior analyst role supports and advances Epic Willow Ambulatory and Epic Specialty Pharmacy workflows, serving as a key contributor in a rapidly growing area of the organization. The position plays a critical role in supporting current ambulatory and specialty pharmacy operations while helping prepare for future expansion, including the planned implementation of Medication Access Hub capabilities and continued growth of specialty pharmacy services. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert in ambulatory pharmacy and specialty workflows, including benefits investigation, prior authorization, financial assistance programs, and coordination across clinical, operational, and revenue cycle teams. Responsibilities include system design, build, optimization, and support of scalable workflows that improve access, reduce delays, and ensure compliance. This role partners closely with pharmacy leadership, clinic stakeholders, and revenue cycle teams to drive strategic initiatives, support the expansion of specialty pharmacy services, and implement solutions that enhance patient outcomes and financial performance. As a senior team member, the analyst also mentors others, leads complex initiatives, and contributes to long-term roadmap planning in a high-growth, high-impact domain. Essential Job Statements Provides solutions to highly complex technical problems requiring frequent use of creativity and ingenuity and an in-depth analysis and evaluation of multiple factors. Leads teams and/or projects, coordinating work activities, reporting on work status, and providing input on team performance. Develops team competencies and documentation materials. Ensures impact assessment documentation is complete. Makes recommendations for repeatable, low-impact implementations. Performs troubleshooting efforts on application issues, submits service requests to vendors, and follows complex correction steps. Acts as primary IT Liaison with key departments and/or committees and coordinates the work of others to complete a series of prioritized requests in responsibility areas. Research emerging technology and its application to business needs and presents findings to all levels of management as required. Prioritizes work in area of specialization and is accountable for reporting on work status. Advises end-users and oversight groups regarding the feasibility of proposed system changes and the amount of effort required to complete the change(s). Participates in application special interest groups, workshops as required. May be responsible to mentor/precept other team members when appropriate. Ensures responsibility and visible commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion programs/initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system. Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects to support the mission of VCUHS. Accepts alternate assignments, as required to fulfill business needs. Patient Population Not applicable to this position. Employment Qualifications Required Education: Associate' degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience. Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in business, clinically related field; health informatics or computer science or equivalent Licensure/Certification Required: At least one certification in Epic application Licensure/Certification Preferred: Must be certified in Epic module(s) appropriate to area of responsibility as determined by leadership if applicable. Each project and exam as determined for the specific roles must be passed within three (3) attempts. Successful Epic certification(s) completion required within 90 days of final training. Maintain required Epic certification for appropriate role
