Job Description: As the Sr NOC Training & Standards Program Manager, you'll lead the development and management of training programs that ensure Network Operations Control (NOC) and Dispatch Employees are fully trained, qualified, and supported to perform their roles safely and effectively. You'll oversee Dispatcher training and standards programs in alignment with FAA regulations and Southwest policies, develop and maintain training curricula and manuals, and support qualification management across the operation. Working closely with Dispatch Leaders and operational teams, you'll answer questions from the floor, provide day‑to‑day guidance, and occasionally instruct training sessions ranging from one‑on‑one support to classroom settings. Through strong collaboration, clear standards, and effective training, you'll directly support safe, compliant, and efficient airline operations within the NOC. Responsibilities Prepare and obtain FAA approval for the Dispatcher training program including basic, initial, and recurrent Instruct and/or monitor all instruction for Dispatch training sessions including competency and proficiency checks Develop training programs and methods for enhancement of Dispatch Training Maintain records and information as required for FARs Assist in the development of standards and procedures for the Flight Dispatch Department Maintain and update the Dispatch Operating Manual Create Read before Dispatch and Training Topic documents Provide guidance in the daily operation of the Flight Dispatch Department and represent the NOC in cross-departmental meetings affecting the NOC and Dispatch Create and deliver presentations Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders Knowledge, Skills and Abilities In-depth knowledge of Southwest Airlines Dispatch Skilled in written and oral communication Ability to work well with others as part of a Team; professionally interact with other departments, labor groups, and the public Ability to perform under pressure Ability to take initiative and work independently Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions Ability to engage and motivate others Ability to master current and emergent PC software packages Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills Ability to work under tight time constraints to accomplish assignments and projects Ability to effectively communicate technical information Education Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience Required: Expert level experience, expansive and far-reaching knowledge of: Dispatch experience at a 14 CFR 121 Carrier Preferred: Experience in training development, technical writing, and presenting complex operational concepts Licensing/Certification Must be a licensed Aircraft Dispatcher under Federal Guidelines Physical Abilities Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job Other Qualifications Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines Must be available to work varying and extended hours as needed Must meet al
