Requirements

• Two (2) years of commercial, institutional, or industrial custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
• (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
• OR:
• One year of experience with Pima County as a Custodian I or closely related classification as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position. The first review of applications will be on 02/13/2026. Responsible for cleaning buildings, office facilities and surrounding areas. May plan, organize, supervise, and occasionally participate in the work of custodial workers; Engages in cleaning of buildings, office facilities, and surrounding areas; Trains and instructs custodial workers in proper methods and procedures of custodial work and infection control techniques; Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to accepted standards; May supervise and participate in loading, unloading, and moving supplies, equipment, and furniture; Orders and maintains an inventory of various custodial equipment and supplies; Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports; Prepares cleaning and disinfectant solutions and ensures proper disposal; May perform more difficult maintenance tasks; May inspect equipment to determine needs for new parts, repairs, overhauls, and replacements; May distribute and collect keys and/or pagers; May be assigned to work in a jail or detention center.
