About the role

We are seeking a high-impact Senior Trade Compliance Manager to lead our import/export operations. This isn't just a "policy" role; you will be the technical architect of our compliance framework. You will manage everything from HTS reengineering and country of origin (COO) determination to navigating the complexities of ITAR and EAR for our marine electronics products.

Responsibilities

  • Production Oversight & Reporting
  • Classification Authority: Act as the internal expert for HTS and ECCN classifications. You will assess current systems and proactively determine how engineering changes or new hardware iterations impact our classification standing.
  • Regulatory Filings: Hands-on management of export licenses through SNAP-R (Department of Commerce/BIS) and D-Trade (Department of State/DDTC).
  • GTM Partnership: Work as a strategic partner to the Go-To-Market team, identifying barriers to entry, duty-saving opportunities, and regulatory requirements for new international territories.
  • Manufacturing & Engineering Liaison: Evaluate manufacturing processes to ensure accurate Country of Origin determinations and navigate "Substantial Transformation" complexities.
  • Operational Execution: Create and audit shipping documentation to ensure seamless transit of electronic components and finished goods.
  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience: 8+ years in Trade Compliance, specifically within Hardware, Marine Electronics, or Robotics.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of ITAR and EAR regulations. You must be comfortable interpreting the Commerce Control List (CCL) and the U.S. Munitions List (USML).
  • HTS Reengineering: Proven ability to analyze hardware components to optimize HTS classifications and minimize duty exposure.
  • Tech Stack: We are a modern, agile company. Proficiency in Notion, Slack, and modern Project Management tools is non-negotiable.
  • Manufacturing Literacy: You understand how things are built and can translate a Bill of Materials (BOM) into a compliance strategy.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB): Holding a valid U.S. Customs Broker License is strongly preferred.
  • Why Join Us?
  • Work on impactful projects that enhance national and global security.
  • Collaborate with top-tier professionals in the defense and intelligence sectors.
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and career growth opportunities.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continued education.
