Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of financial statement notes, working papers, Financial Reporting Package schedules, and SOX documentation (e.g., Salaries & Benefits, Pension, Other Liabilities, Contingent items, Litigation).
  • Perform monthly and quarterly accounting for Payroll and HR, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis across employee-related costs (e.g., Pension, Bonus, Vacation, Benefits, Severance, Expat costs).
  • Collaborate with Corporate stakeholders to support financial reporting, resolve issues, and improve data quality and processes.
  • Drive process alignment, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives, particularly across US Payroll and HR operations.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to a CPA candidate, including reviewing work, ensuring accuracy, and supporting development and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • University degree and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship abilities, including coaching team members, reviewing work, and supporting professional development.
  • Strong systems aptitude, with advanced knowledge of SAP and the ability to leverage technology to enhance reporting, streamline processes, and improve data integrity.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a high attention to detail and ability to clearly convey complex information.
