Position Summary Supports the fleet maintenance operations by installing and inspecting tires and rims on tractor-trailers. Major Tasks and Responsibilities Removes and installs tire and rim assemblies from class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, trailers, and converter dollies. Uses hydraulic jacks and stands to gain access to the unit and replace tire assemblies. Operates, lifts, moves, and stores specialized equipment to maintain, inspect, and repair tires or rims. Repairs tires outside the maintenance facility utilizing a service truck. Inspects tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation. Disposes of old tires in compliance with environmental regulations. Mounts and dismounts tires or rims using specialized tire machines.
