About the role
A AG provides anesthesia services for much of the St. David's HealthCare system in the Austin area . St. David's Medical Center is home to the world-renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David's Neuroscience & Spine Institute and provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care . In addition to St. David's Medical Center, o ur practice provides anesthesia services at St. David's North Austin Medical Center , South Austin Hospital, and Round Rock Medical Center and accompanying outpatient surgery centers . Case Assignments Our practice covers the full range of specialties including g eneral inpatient and outpatient cases , trauma , OB, neuro, EP and more. CRNAs do their own spinals ; as well as epidurals and arterial lines on a case-by-case basis. Responsibilities
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
- Current license as a registered professional nurse
- Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
- Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
