The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. Description of Work Parole Case Analyst II The Parole Case Analyst II serves as an advanced‑level professional within the Parole Commission, handling complex case assignments and providing guidance to less‑experienced analysts. While this position does not typically include direct supervision, it functions as a mentor and may act on behalf of a manager when needed. The role requires broad knowledge of sentencing laws, offender behavior, and community resources to support informed recommendations to Parole Commissioners.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analyses of complex parole and post‑release supervision cases, including life sentences and cases involving multiple sentencing laws.
  • Compile and evaluate offender data from reports, criminal databases, institutional records, and court systems to prepare comprehensive written case summaries and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to Parole Case Analyst I employees and assist with interpretation of policies, procedures, and sentencing guidelines.
  • Coordinate offender releases to other jurisdictions, including Interstate Compact transfers, immigration authorities, and jurisdictions with pending charges.
  • Communicate effectively with offenders, victims, families, attorneys, and other stakeholders, while handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
