Software Engineer/Senior Software Engineer - microservices

Responsibilities

• Design and build modern REST APIs and event-driven microservices
• Develop scalable cloud-native applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences
• Contribute to architecture, engineering standards, and continuous improvement practices
• Explore AI-assisted engineering workflows and emerging technologies
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge across the chapter

Requirements

• Strong backend software engineering experience
• Experience building APIs, distributed systems, and microservices architectures
• Expertise in Java and Spring Boot, or experience in other strongly typed languages with a willingness to learn Java
• Experience with AWS and event-driven technologies such as Kafka
• Strong understanding of system design, reliability, security, and performance
• Curiosity, collaboration, and enthusiasm for modern engineering practices and AI-enabled development
• Experience in full stack development, autonomous product teams, or self-directed technical projects would also be highly valued.
• Responsibilities and scope will vary depending on the level of appointment, with Senior Software Engineers expected to demonstrate deeper architectural leadership, mentoring capability, and ownership across complex distributed systems.
