For Seco Tools China, our largest unit in the sales region Asia Pacific, we are now looking for Industry Manager-Humanoid robot with cutting tool experience and a passion for customers, sales and the desire to join and contribute to create a world class Application Engineer team. PURPOSE OF POSITION Industry Manager (Application engineers of Segment) are responsible for developing and optimizing cutting tool applications related segment to enhance machining processes and improve productivity in industries related to the manufacturing of humanized robots. They work closely with customers and sales team to provide technical support, recommend tooling solutions, CAM engineering and ensure the effective implementation of cutting tools in various machining operations. PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 1. Technical Leadership Oversee tooling applications: Lead the development and optimization of cutting tool applications for turning, milling, drilling, and threading. Machining strategy development: Guide the creation of efficient machining processes to improve productivity, tool life, and surface finish. Tool design input: Collaborate with R&D and product engineering to influence tool geometry, coatings, and materials based on field feedback. CAM and simulation oversight: Ensure the team uses CAM software and simulation tools effectively to validate tool paths and performance. 2. Customer Engagement Technical sales support: Partner with sales teams to provide pre-sales consultations, tool recommendations, and post-sales troubleshooting. On-site support: Coordinate or lead customer visits to analyze machining challenges and implement tooling solutions. Custom tooling solutions: Oversee the development of special tools or modifications tailored to specific customer applications. Training Provider: Train customers on tool usage, best practices, and new technologies. 3. Operational and Strategic Oversight Project management: Prioritize and manage engineering resources across multiple customer and internal projects. Process improvement: Continuously refine workflows, documentation, and knowledge-sharing practices. 4. Industry and Market Alignment Voice of the customer: Collect and relay customer feedback to product development and marketing teams. Competitive benchmarking: Stay informed about competitor tooling solutions and machining strategies. Digital transformation: Promote the use of digital tools like tool management systems, IoT-enabled machines, and data analytics. 5. Technical Support & Tooling Expertise Recommend cutting tools based on customer applications (e.g., material type, machine type, operation). Optimize machining processes to improve productivity, tool life, and surface finish. Analyze part drawings and machining conditions to select or design appropriate tools. Support tool trials and testing, both in-house and at customer sites. 6. Custom Tooling Solutions Design or modify tools for specific customer needs in collaboration with product engineering. Prepare technical documentation such as tool drawings, application reports, and machining parameters. Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure feasibility and timely delivery of custom tools. 7. Data Analysis & Reporting Collect and analyze performance data from tool trials and customer feedback. Document case studies and success stories to support internal knowledge sharing and marketing. Track KPIs such as tool life, cycle time reduction, and cost savings. 8. Industry Awareness & Continuous Learning Stay updated on machining trends, materials, coatings, and digital manufacturing tools. Participate in trade shows, seminars, and training to maintain technical edge. Benchmark competitor tools and strategies to inform product development and positioning. 9. Seco Ambassador Act and communicate as a Seco brand ambassador with customers according to the defined Code of Conduct, Values and Principles Constantly improves knowledge of the Seco offer and quality of production, new tools and technologies. Constantly increases the level of professional development through the training arranged by the company, and independently. SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred. More than 5 years of technical experience in the chosen segments - Humanoid robot . Experience with value-based or consultative selling, proven experience (3 years minimum) in the sale of technical solutions in B2B, ideally in machining or cutting tooling as a process engineer.
