Discover more via our website. Your next career opportunity You will use and extend Python simulation models to quantify health, equity and economic impacts of interventions. Working with expert modellers , economists and epidemiologists, you will support consulting projects and peer-reviewed research. You will grow your technical, client- facing and leadership skills while contributing to high-impact, purpose-driven work. What you will deliver: Develop, extend and maintain Python-based multistate lifetable and related simulation models for public health interventions. Build reproducible data pipelines, process large datasets and generate model inputs using robust statistical methods. Validate, calibrate and document models, ensuring transparent, high-quality code and clear user-facing documentation. Contribute to web-based tools and visualisations that communicate model results to technical and non-technical audiences. Support consulting and research projects by translating client needs into modelling specifications and drafting reports. You may be a great fit if you: Hold a PhD or Masters in computer science , data science, mathematics, statistics or a related quantitative field. Demonstrate strong Python programming skills for simulation modelling, including lifetable, Markov or similar approaches. Use version control and structured documentation practices, ideally with Git, to support collaborative software development. Analyse complex datasets, build data pipelines and create clear visualisations and automation macros in Python or R. Deliver high-quality reports and presentations for clients, translating technical model outputs into accessible, actionable insights. Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage concurrent tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. For further information please refer to the attached PD. This sits within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, a leading public health school. The team leads the SHINE Program, combining epidemiology, economics and data science to evaluate interventions.
