About the role
This is infrastructure to build, not just keep running. You'll set up and run IT across Minerva's sites, reporting to a CISO who sets the direction and stays out of the detail. Minerva Defence is one of the fastest-growing defence technology companies in Europe. We create the software, hardware and networking that make unmanned systems effective on the modern battlefield, all ideated, designed and manufactured end-to-end in the UK, and in active use today. We are deliberately low-profile: a team of around 60, small in headcount and outsized in effect. We look for people who are not just talented but genuinely committed to the work, the team, and the purpose behind it. You'll own the day-to-day running of our IT environment: onboarding new starters, supporting a fast-growing team, and managing a multisite WiFi setup across a mixed device fleet through Intune. You'll work closely with the CISO (who's remote, so you'll have real autonomy on site) to keep our security posture sharp and aligned with the standards that matter in this space. This isn't a ticket queue; it's a chance to shape how IT works here as the company scales. Responsibilities Manage daily IT operations, including user onboarding, offboarding, and first line support Administer and maintain multisite WiFi infrastructure Manage a mixed device fleet using Intune MDM Maintain and develop our cloud-focused, zero trust network architecture Work with the CISO to maintain compliance with relevant security standards Monitor and respond to day-to-day security issues, escalating where needed Maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and configurations Identify and implement improvements to infrastructure and tooling as the company grows Minimum: Hands-on experience with Intune and M365 administration Experience managing IT infrastructure with a security-first approach Eligible for UK SC clearance (UK citizen or 5+ years UK residency) Self-motivated, comfortable working with significant autonomy Willing to work on-site in our offices in the West Midlands Preferred: Experience in highly secure environments such as Defence, Government, or banking Familiarity with zero trust network architectures Experience supporting multisite WiFi deployments The job is demanding enough, so we try to take the everyday pressures off your plate. The benefits are built around that, starting with a genuine stake in what we are building. Share options vesting over three years, so you own a real piece of it Bupa private health, fully funded from day one 6% employer pension contribution 25 days leave plus bank holidays, and properly enhanced cover for both parents Enterprise level AI tooling, with as many tokens as you need to accelerate your work Relocation support if you are moving to join us, or a home office budget if you work remotely The full detail comes with your offer.
