Software Engineering Team Manager, Axon 911

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a back-end engineering team focused on Mission critical communications infrastructure, including voice, video, audio recording, transcription, translation, and location services.
• Drive the end-to-end architecture and delivery of scalable, production-grade systems that integrate components from multiple products and teams across Israel and internationally.
• Own the technical direction for your team-setting high coding standards, defining API and service architectures, and ensuring reliability at scale.
• Coordinate cross-team integration efforts with engineering partners in Israel, Europe and the US, navigating distributed, multicultural collaboration effectively.
• Lead the migration and evolution of existing systems toward Kubernetes-based, cloud-native infrastructure.
• Mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Leverage AI tools across the software development lifecycle to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and drive team productivity.
• Represent your team's technical work through clear, compelling architectural presentations to leadership and stakeholders.
• What You Bring
• 5+ years of experience leading software development teams, advantage for global or distributed teams.
• Strong communication skills-able to present complex technical and architectural concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience collaborating with distributed, multicultural engineering teams.
• Leadership maturity to navigate both technical challenges and interpersonal dynamics across a global organization.
• At least 7 years of deep technical expertise in high-scale databases, high-performance systems, and API/service architectures.
• Leadership maturity to navigate both technical challenges and interpersonal dynamics across a global organization-detail-oriented, accountable, and dependable in owning outcomes end to end.
• Experience with cloud-native development- MUST
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure at production scale.
• Familiarity with networking, VoIP, RTC, WebSockets- Advantage
