QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include: Minimum of three (3) years of proven clerical experience in a student services related field; Documented work experience in the area of customer service; Working knowledge of the role of Enrollment Services in a state college setting; Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service; Positive student-centered attitude; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work with a diverse student population; Strong commitment to the college goals of enrollment, retention, and completion; Exhibit sound judgment and discretion in working with students and the general public; Proven experience with Microsoft Office and Windows applications; Ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated; Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks at once; Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail oriented. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Serving as front line staff at the Welcome Desk in Crews Hall, W-Building; Assessing the customers' needs; Providing appropriate assistance and direction based on that assessment; Knowing status of staff availability for servicing students; Keeping accurate data in electronic system documenting student traffic and needs; Maintaining a welcoming, clean, and up-to-date informational Lobby area; Assisting in the Information Call Center as needed. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Greet customers entering the Crews Hall in a professional, polite, and helpful manner; Assess the customers' needs through effective communication; Providing appropriate assistance and direction based on that assessment; Have a clear understanding of FERPA guidelines when assisting visitors; Provide necessary information and assistance based on conversation with customer including but not limited to: Assisting current students with schedule printouts upon request; Provide students with "New Student Orientation" information and details as needed Accessing Mariner Student Registration System, providing course information as needed Alert advisors of student needs (appointment arrivals, wait times, etc.); Enter student data in a queueing system for services needed. Refer to academic calendar to aide in answering student concerns about various deadlines and schedules; Access appropriate resources (Master Weekly - Facilities Reservation Schedule, Call Center Calendar, etc.) to direct visitors and callers effectively and efficiently; Maintain literature racks, lobby tables, and Welcome Desk area monitoring and discarding outdated materials as needed; Understand general functions of Enrollment and Student Services departments: Information Call Center, Enrollment Center, Student Records, Financial Aid, and Advising, Career and Transition S
