We are seeking a Safety and Reliability Engineering Analyst to play a critical role in shaping our cutting-edge systems. In this role, you will directly influence system design by ensuring compliance with safety and reliability requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in hazard assessments, fault tree analysis, and risk mitigation strategies while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a keen eye for identifying and addressing potential system risks, thrives in a complex technical environment, and is passionate about enhancing system safety and reliability. In this role you can expect to support program safety and reliability objectives by: Executing assigned hazard and reliability analyses Supporting compliance to contractual safety requirements and standards Producing accurate, traceable technical documentation Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to reduce system risk Apply system safety disciplines to assigned programs (civilian or military) Execute defined analyses such as: Hazard Assessments Preliminary / System Hazard Analyses Classify hazards using defined severity and probability criteria Track hazards and mitigations in hazard logs or equivalent tools Support reliability and maintainability activities, including: FMEA / FMECA development Maintainability considerations during design reviews Use established R&M tools, templates, and processes Contribute data to reliability calculations or predictions as directed Collaborate with: Systems engineering Hardware design teams Software development teams Review design artifacts to identify safety and reliability impacts Provide technical inputs to developers regarding hazard mitigation implementation Develop and maintain technical documentation, including: Safety plans (sections or drafts) Safety assessment reports Hazard logs FMEA worksheets Ensure documentation is: Accurate Traceable Compliant with applicable standards and program requirements Bachelor degree in relevant engineering discipline; or equivalent Has practical exposure to system safety and/or RMT work Understanding of: Systems engineering lifecycle Hardware and software design processes Safety engineering fundamentals Understanding of: Reliability principles Maintainability concepts FMEA / FMECA techniques Ability to apply methods using predefined guidance and templates Understanding of: Hazard classification schemes Risk matrices Awareness is an asset for: MIL-STD-1629A ARP-4761 DEF STAN 00-055 / 00-056 It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
