As a Senior Purchasing Coordinator, you will take on a key responsibility in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our ordering processes using a combination of in-house tools and google suite packages. Working closely with the Supply Chain, Procurement and Forecasting teams, this role will place and track purchase orders to ensure the fulfilment of customer orders. Responsibilities
- Inbound Supply Chain Oversight: Manage the end-to-end category management of inbound supply chain operations, including operational supplier management, forecasting, procurement, delivery tracking, and KPI management for food and/or packaging materials.
- Performance Accountability: Drive and maintain ownership of critical performance metrics, including On-Time, In-Full (OTIF) delivery, waste reduction, Advance Shipping Notice (ASN) compliance, and customer error mitigation.
- Supplier Governance: Oversee supplier relations, addressing queries and managing vendor performance through structured monitoring, comprehensive reporting, and clear, professional communication.
- Internal Partnership: Collaborate closely with strategic suppliers and internal teams-including Forecasting, Procurement, Warehousing, and Inventory-to maintain category excellence and ensure full alignment with customer requirements.
- Risk Mitigation & Accuracy: Establish and execute rigorous audit protocols to verify order completeness and accuracy prior to supplier transmission. Proactively identify, anticipate, and resolve supply chain disruptions, issuing supplementary purchase orders as necessary.
- Data Integrity: Uphold strict business integrity and data confidentiality protocols. Diligently identify, troubleshoot, and correct any data inaccuracies within internal systems.
- Mentorship: Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to junior Purchasing Coordinators, offering guidance on procurement best practices and collaborative problem-solving.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for technological advancement and process automation to drive supply chain efficiencies, proposing and implementing scalable solutions.
- Operational Flexibility: Maintain high adaptability to shifting business needs, providing cross-category support, deputizing for alternative category areas, and covering absences to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Requirements
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 18 months of experience as a Purchasing Coordinator or in a closely related procurement role.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); hands-on experience or familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems is highly desirable.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong self-management capabilities, and a proven track completeness to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in English is required. Proficiency in additional European languages (such as German, Dutch, French, Spanish, or Italian) is considered a distinct advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking acumen.
