Description of Work Broughton Hospital is currently recruiting for multiple Licensed Practical Nurses. The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to prepare and administer medication for assigned shift, as well as ensure the medication room follows clinical standards of practice relating to storage and maintenance of medications. The LPN also assists the Registered Nurse (RN) with patient/family education/teaching, treatments and discharge planning/teaching during the patient's hospital stay. The LPN is responsible for performing a variety of skilled health care activities for patients and carries out structured interventions based on the comprehensive plan of care. Work involves direct patient care contact on an assigned shift to ensure individual patient needs are met and is performed under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. LPNs must have a valid license to practice in North Carolina. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $41,407.00 - $62,111.00 *A Sign-on bonus of $4,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Technical Knowledge: Team leadership including delegation of duties and supervision. Consulting/Advising: Ability to provide feedback and guidance/counsel to nursing staff on care rendered to patients Critical Thinking: Basic ability to implement the nursing process. Client/Customer Service: Ability to work as a team player with multi-disciplinary healthcare staff. Coaching/Mentoring: Ability to provide support and assistance to peers/co-workers. Management Preferences: Psychiatric nursing experience preferred. Conditional Requirements: Selected applicants must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check, and complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation. This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events. The normal work schedule is 40 hours/week with alternating weekends and holidays. As always, flexibility is required for training and education purposes and to meet hospital needs. The following shifts are available: Work Schedule Shift Premium 8-hour 1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm 10% Weekend 8-hour 2nd shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm 20% Weekday & 30% Weekend *12-hour shifts will be considered upon request. Please note: Selected applicants will be required to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week for the duration of new employee orientation and training. *Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate. An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if: The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date) The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
