The PASCAL Center Coordinator will support the strategic growth and daily operations of designated scholarship communities at Colorado School of Mines. This position plays a vital role in designing and implementing intentional, developmental programming that enhances student success and strengthens community. Aligned with the vision outlined in the university's Mines@150 plan, scholarship communities at Mines provide not only financial support but also a structured environment for learning, leadership development, and connection. The Coordinator will serve as an integral member of the PASCAL Center team, contributing to its mission of supporting scholars through inclusive, impactful, and community-centered initiatives. This is a full-time, grant-funded position through 06/30/2030. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding. This work is primarily performed on campus in Golden, Colorado, with some flexibility for hybrid work after a training period. Primary Responsibilities COSI Achieve @ Mines Programming and Engagement (60%) Support all aspects of the COSI Achieve @ Mines program, including document processing, student record maintenance, data collection, scholarship marketing and promotion, and management of the scholarship application lifecycle. Assist with planning, scheduling, and executing events, which may include reserving spaces, coordinating catering, developing and facilitating workshops, and managing student volunteers. Ensure all programming aligns with PASCAL priorities, standards, and any specific expectations for the scholarship community. Maintain a consistent and reliable presence at scholar events, including evenings and weekends. Support event logistics by assisting with setup, guest check-in, program facilitation, and post-event teardown and cleanup. Collaborate with campus partners-including Admissions, Financial Aid, and New Student and Transition Services (NeST)-to promote the scholarship, share key application timelines, and support the transition of incoming COSI Achieve Scholars to Mines. Upon enrollment at Mines, the Coordinator is expected to maintain regular contact with COSI Achieve Scholars through one-on-one meetings and community programming, using a variety of communication methods including in-person, virtual, phone, and email. Collaborate closely with Colorado Department of Higher Education COSI program staff to develop, implement, evaluate, and refine programming. Attend all required partner meetings and COSI Achieve-related gatherings. Support event-related data collection, including check-ins, attendee feedback, and cost tracking. Responsibilities include stewarding and satisfying COSI Achieve reporting requirements as expected by CDHE and COSI. Collaborate with campus partners-including the Career Center, Center for Academic Services and Advising (CASA), and MEP-to deliver information sessions on topics such as college transition, career readiness, financial literacy, and academic success. Scholarship Communities Programming and Engagement (25%) Collaborate with the Assistant Director and team members to plan and execute scholar community programming throughout the academic year. Meet regularly with scholars in assigned communities, as needed, to provide guidance on scholarship requirements and connect students with appropriate academic resources. Provide support, as needed, for the Mines Leadership Lecture Series and other PASCAL Center initiatives. Maintain consistent communication with assigned scholarship cohorts to share updates, promote events, and convey relevant institutional information; build and sustain relationships with campus partners, academic departments, donors, the Mines Foundation, and faculty. Track and monitor key data metrics, including student persistence, retention, academic progress, and other indicators of program impact and effectiveness. Support event-related data collection, including attendance tracking, participant feedback, and cost monitoring. Enroll and onboard new scholars (10%): In collaboration with the Assistant Director, the coordinator will assist with planning and coordinating virtual and in-person information sessions to promote scholarship opportunities to prospective students and families.
