About the role

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the TECH SUPPORT MECH DIV-MECH UTIL TECH Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Collecting data pertaining to the scope of work, determining cost estimates, and performing construction quality control inspections to determine the amount and type of labor and materials required to complete assignments; 2) Performing visual and predictive maintenance inspections and assessments of mechanical utility facilities, distribution systems, and equipment using tools such as; thermography, infra-red, and sonic testing; 3) Analyzing maintenance reports and utility work type metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective actions; 4) Applying engineering knowledge, designing and estimating criteria, Navy codes, building codes, and safety regulation; and 5) Applying knowledge of architectural, mechanical, civil and electrical engineering technology with an emphasis on electrical disciplines.
