Summary: The Vessel IT Engineer will be a part of IT Department and is responsible for managing, supporting, maintaining and upgrading the on-board IT infrastructure of X-Press Feeders vessels. The successful candidate will provide remote IT support, and when required on-board support on our vessels. The position offers development in IT knowledge, tele-communication and cyber security skills in a multicultural environment. Reports to: Senior Manager, Vessel IT Role and Responsibilities: Provide remote support for vessels, crew and on-board support (when needed). Install, maintain, and optimize existing IT systems, including networks, communication systems (satellite, radio, etc.), servers, network and workstations. Participate in the design, implementation and improvement of our vessels' IT infrastructure. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Perform system and network updates/upgrades remotely or onboard vessels. Liaise with vendors, email providers and other IT personnel for problem resolution or when new tasks are needed. Maintain IT security, system and backup solutions. Be the contact point on L1 helpdesk escalations and resolve accordingly. Provide out-of-business hours/weekend support as part of an on-call rota. Boarding of vessels for audits and other ad-hoc works as and when needed.
