Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will design, execute and interpret experiments, utilizing an understanding of best practice electrochemistry methods.

Requirements

  • Experience in method development of stability of the electrode system using electrochemical, analytical and surface analysis tools.
  • Experience in electrochemistry in constricted volume.
  • Experience in micro/nano-fabrication of electrodes will be a plus.
  • Experienced use of data and risks to formulate clear decision criteria to influence technical direction at a project level
  • Experience with a wide range standard analytical techniques and surface characterization techniques.
  • Understanding of microfluidics, fluorescence based assays, and fundamentals of DNA (bio)chemistry is a plus
  • Education and Experience
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Ph.D. in Electrochemistry, Chemistry or Material Science with minimal experience (0-1 years)

Based at our Headquarters in San Diego we require a Sr. Scientist to join our Advanced Science department as an Electrochemistry expert in a permanent role. As part of the Material and Applied Surface Science group, you will play an integral role in developing new sequencing technologies and related applications. As the company moves fast so does the technology we use, the candidate will have to be adaptable to a wide range of techniques and methods used in life-sciences.
