About the role
You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER in the CIVIL Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S. NOTE: You MUST provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Civil site design and analysis, such as grading, storm water management, and site development for facilities and transportation projects. Assuming responsibility of final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, Request for Proposals (RFP's), and project specifications for a wide variety of facility types; 2) Providing timely and professional specialized expertise in civil engineering guidance and consultation to Facility Engineering Commands; 3) Providing post construction award including review and approval of contractors submittals on materials, fabrication drawings and schedules and ensuring conformance to projects managed; 4) Managing design efforts, reviewing A/E deliverables, and supporting construction projects; and 5) Interpreting and applying building codes, and engineering standards.
