About the role

ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips Working for tomorrow today. Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives - whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics. Your role At ZEISS, we develop some of the world's most advanced projection and illumination systems for the production of high-performance semiconductor chips using microlithography. Controlled mechatronic concepts are a key part of these systems and play a critical role in delivering exceptional precision and performance. As a Senior Development Engineer in Mechatronics with a focus on Dynamics and Control Engineering, you will: contribute to the development, evaluation, and documentation of mechatronic system concepts for projection and illumination optics used in advanced microlithography systems model, simulate, and analyze highly complex mechatronic systems, and independently design and assess control algorithms for the fast and ultra-precise positioning of high-precision mechanical components derive technical specifications and system budgets for components, support prototype implementation and testing, and evaluate results to drive continuous improvement work in an interdisciplinary, international development environment and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external customers, and development partners Your profile Excellent university degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, control engineering, or a comparable field Many years of professional experience in the development of complex mechatronic systems, ideally within the semiconductor or another high-tech industry Strong technical leadership skills with experience in decision-making, delegation, stakeholder management, and fostering team members Strong expertise in control system design (frequency- and time-domain methods, advanced control loops) and dynamic analysis of mechanical systems (multibody simulation, FEM, structural dynamics, modeling techniques), experience in validating dynamic models, and excellent MATLAB skills Ideally, knowledge of related disciplines such as actuators/sensors, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, technical optics, and systems engineering An independent and systematic way of working, very good organizational and communication skills, and a high level of assertiveness E njoy working in interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic environment, with a high level of commitment and a results-oriented mindset Excellent written and spoken English skills; German language skills would be an advantage Your ZEISS Recruiting Team: Matthias Sonnentag, Ramazan Azgin
