The Lead Technician is responsible for safely leading a team to assemble products to Wabtec's quality standards. The Lead is also responsible for ensuring that their team is working effectively and effectively, providing high quality products and customer service to Wabtec's stakeholders. What do we offer? Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly range for this role is between $30.00+ an hour. Benefit coverage begins on day 1! Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible. What do we want to know about you? Able to work 1st shift hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM High School Graduate or GED. 2+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment. Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the assembly operations in an industrial setting. Must have good listening and communication skills. Able to work well with others to be a good team player. What will your typical day look like? Monitor and maintain safety procedures and conditions to prevent accidents and provide a safe workplace. Drive customer satisfaction through detailed focus on product reliability. Provide direction and support for an assigned hourly production team encompassing EHS, quality, material, process, and delivery. Help motivate all employees on the production team to perform their duties using established procedures to meet and exceed goals. Lead and support all continuous improvement activities Ensure all company policies are followed Work with Supervisor/ME to develop and execute training plans for all operators to ensure they have the skills needed to do their jobs. Ensure operators and sufficiently cross trained to optimize resource usage safely and correctly. Communicate clearly with the work group. Ensure follow-up on concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and solve operation problems when identified. Promote culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and collaborate problem solving. Identify opportunities to increase employee engagement, motivation, and collaboration across work groups. Required Qualifications Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions Basic shop math skills in all units of measuring Ability to read and use gauges and measuring instruments Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to detail Knowledge of production/materials control system Understanding of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing concepts and production schedules preferred Strong organizational skills Demonstrates effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, coach and drive accountability.
