About the role
Warner Electric is looking for our next Team Leader to lead our Material Handler group for our 2nd shift (2:30pm-11pm) operations. Our Team Leaders have a direct impact on our safety, culture, workplace organization, internal and external quality, on-time delivery, productivity and inventory. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented; operate industrial trucks (sit and stand), hoists, tuggers and pallet jacks; develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and must have the ability and willingness to train others. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to: Lead all activities relating to production performance. Coordinate activities of material associates and guide our people in their development Continually improve safety record with a proactive approach to physical safety issues and employee safety behavior. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas Collaborate, develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing processes. Lead communication between members of the team, shifts and production cells Operate industrial trucks (sit and stand), hoists, tuggers and pallet jacks to assist in loading or moving materials and products Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, cleans work area, prepares all skids for shipment, stocks production cells and keeps supplies on the production floor orderly QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES: Sense of urgency: have a bias for action Results Oriented: takes ownership and has a drive to achieve goals in the short and long term Technical Excellence: have the job-related expertise and motivation to use and expand one's technical knowledge Develop Organizational Leaders: a genuine commitment to foster long-term growth and development of associates, with the particular attention to how their talent can best be utilized to meet current and future business needs Strong Communication: Capable of transferring verbal, written, electronic and printed communications across various mediums to effectively deliver messages to appropriate recipient Teamwork and collaboration: develop high-quality working relationships in order to influence, gain support, and achieve results Will be required to obtain and maintain industrial truck (sit and stand), hoists, tuggers and pallet jack certification. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS: High School Diploma or GED Previous leadership and manufacturing experience Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPS, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods Post-secondary education preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
