Research Intern - Smartphone-Based Identification Systems

Requirements

• We are looking for a student who demonstrates an open and proactive attitude, with a strong ability to take initiative. You should be able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and maintain a high level of organization. The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written; Proficiency in Dutch is not a requirement
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or relevant
• You have basic programming skills (e.g. Java, Kotlin, C/C++, or Python)
• You're genuinely interested in mobile app development (Android or iOS)
• You bring a basic understanding of NFC or wireless communication technologies
• You have a nationality of an EU member state or if not, you are a student at a Dutch university
• You must be available for 6 months
• You are located in the Netherlands and preferably reside within reasonable travel distance from Eindhoven

Rethink identification - Analyze the current NFC card solution and uncover opportunities for improvement Explore new technologies - Investigate smartphone-based approaches such as NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and app-based authentication Design innovative concepts - Develop a future-proof identification solution and define how it integrates into the Bosch DICENTIS ecosystem Balance usability & security - Evaluate how your concept performs in terms of user experience, reliability, and data security Make data-driven comparisons - Assess your solution against the existing system and highlight key benefits, trade-offs, and feasibility
