Responsibilities

  • Perform Fixed Asset transaction and ensure delivery quality in terms of accuracy, completeness and timeliness on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that closing timelines meet the Group Corporate requirements
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and coordinate with Local Financial Services, Project Mangers, Controllers and other Financial Services functional teams to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts for Evonik companies.
  • Escalate major issue for a discussion to the Key Accountant /Team Lead if required.
  • Ensure all related Internal Control Systems implemented in Fixed Asset complied to the control guideline which has been established. Execution of remediation plan to be in place, if any
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with various stakeholders including Local Financial Services, Division/BL Controlling , Center Of Excellence and other teams within the Accounting Hub
  • Coordinate on the changes of work instructions, standard operating procedures and document local/country specific variances for discussion and escalation.
  • Provide support with regards of internal and external audit for relevant Fixed Asset topic.
  • Continuously support in implementing process improvement and harmonization in areas of operation internally
  • Support and align on standardization across regions and globally by focusing on alignment of end to end business process areas in the Fixed Asset function
  • Support and contribute in improving productivity of Fixed Asset by conducting relevant benchmarking exercise and monitoring through KPI.
  • Undertake any other assignments / projects that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with Fixed Asset processes and IFRS16 is an added advantage.
  • Computer literate and have experience working in SAP or other major ERP system's work environment would be an added advantage .
  • A team player, meticulous, able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Exposure to shared services environment would be preferred
  • Candidates assigned to support the EMEA regions and work according to the relevant shift hours.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work well both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
