We're hiring Acute Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants for an Advanced Heart Failure team established in May 2025 and is still growing. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating closely with physicians and other care providers to manage a distinct patient population in the inpatient acute care setting. Working with hospitalized patients, the APP provides specialized care and supports the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical services. This role requires a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and clinical education, with the APP responsible for adhering to established clinical pathways and protocols to ensure safe and effective patient care. The APP will demonstrate advanced medical knowledge, clinical and technical competence, sound clinical judgment, and professional communication skills. In addition, the APP is accountable for timely and compliant documentation and actively participates in professional development and competency validation to maintain high standards of care. . Position Highlights Be a part of a new & growing service Work to full scope of practice Day Shift No Call Support provided by the Office of APP SHIFT 6a-6p (12-13 hour shifts) No call Will work some weekends and holidays - rotating every third weekend. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a new service at Vanderbilt University Hospital. In this primary admitting service, the Inpatient Advanced Heart Failure APP will round with the attending physician and provide care for advanced heart failure patients being evaluated for heart transplants or VADs. 1-2 years of inpatient APP experience is preferred (heart failure experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting is a plus).
