Chef - Indian Cuisine

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes including North Indian and/or South Indian cuisine as per restaurant standards
• Plan and execute daily kitchen operations and food preparation activities
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
• Monitor food quality and freshness of ingredients
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards
• Manage inventory and coordinate procurement of kitchen supplies
• Supervise kitchen assistants and support staff where required
• Minimize food wastage and maintain cost efficiency
• Develop and introduce new menu items based on customer preferences and business requirements
• Ensure timely preparation and delivery of customer orders
• Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure operational readiness Requirements
• Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience as a Chef in an Indian restaurant
• Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, spices, and traditional recipes
• Experience in preparing North Indian / South Indian / Tandoori / Curry dishes (customize based on restaurant type)
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and public holidays
• Relevant culinary certification is an advantage
