Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2+ years of a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science experience
• 3+ years of people management and team development experience
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
• Experience in technical leadership of large, complex initiatives, and delivering critical solutions, significant improvements, or new mechanisms
• Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or Master's degree or above in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
• Experience in data science, business analytics, business intelligence, or similar experience in big data environments
• Experience analyzing metrics to drive business improvements

Key job responsibilities As the manager of the Search Capacity team, you will lead a team of talented business intelligence engineers, data scientists, and technical program mangers with the following responsibilities. * Scale the Amazon Search service by working closely with service owners in engineering and operations to understand the service in depth and drive optimal scaling and computational capacity planning. * Identify and track key performance metrics around efficiency and costs. * Manage planning, ordering, and budgeting for hardware and other computational resources. * Develop and improve tools for automating the foregoing responsibilities wherever possible. * Analyze resource utilization and performance test data to identify variables impacting performance and scalability. Develop models for required hardware resources to meet current and future SLAs.
