About the role

The engineer will provide critical experimental support for the development and operation of low-temperature optical and microwave spectroscopy platforms for rare-earth-ion quantum memory systems. The role is essential to meeting project milestones related to long-coherence quantum storage and spectroscopy measurements. Support QM CRP WP1 experimental activities on rare-earth-ion quantum memory materials. Perform optical and microwave spectroscopy measurements on erbium-doped crystals at cryogenic temperatures. Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of laser, microwave, and cryogenic experimental systems. Participate in data acquisition, analysis, and experimental optimization. Support integration and testing of RF, microwave, and optical components. Assist in laboratory management, procurement, and safety compliance. Contribute to technical documentation, reports, and presentations. Requirement Strong interest in experimental quantum technologies and low-temperature physics. Experience with laboratory instrumentation, optics, RF/microwave electronics, or cryogenic systems Familiarity with data analysis and programming tools such as MATLAB or Python is preferred. Good problem-solving and hands-on experimental skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team. Willingness to support experiments during extended measurement sessions when required.
