Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support Polaris quality initiatives and programs as required.
• Lead and support Quality auditors and Technicians on assembly quality issues.
• Participate or lead failure analysis, root cause and corrective action investigations.
• Manage and report on internal process quality metrics; identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead improvement initiatives.
• Communicate process issues/problems/concerns to Quality and Operations leadership.
• Generate quality instructions and/or procedures as needed to contain quality issues or to assist with process validations.
• Partner directly with the Operations teams to improve the use of measurement systems.
• Conduct and/or support internal audits and product transfers as needed.
• Perform process capability studies.
• Experience and Skills:
• Three (3) or more years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Process Engineering or equivalent field required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead technicians in inspection methods for assembly quality processes.
• Strong process improvement skills Kaizen, Six Sigma, Control Plans, Print reading skills.
• Experience and knowledge of how to properly read and decipher GD&T.
• Leadership experience with hourly employees.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently without supervision.
• Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Operations or related field required; advanced degree preferred.

• Standard manufacturing/plant environment, with a strong plant-floor presence.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10 percent of time - travel can fluctuate according to business need.
