Mechanic I/II/III - Automotive (Streets)

Requirements

• Mechanic Automotive I :
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and one (1) year mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Class B CDL with Air Brakes required within 6 months of hire . Must own a standard set of mechanic tools.
• Mechanic Automotive II:
• Mechanic Automotive III:
• If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
• Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
• Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
• Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

Salary Range $18.77-$23.93 Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting Job Summary Salary: Mechanic Automotive I: $18.77 - $23.93 Mechanic Automotive II: $19.91 - $25.38 Mechanic Automotive III: $21.10 - $26.90 Job Description: Performs skilled mechanical work analyzing and diagnosing problems. Inspects, replaces, and/or repairs defective parts. Performs preventative maintenance on City of Orlando automobiles, tractors, mowers, trucks, street sweepers, equipment, fire trucks and equipment, police cars and/or motorcycles, and small engines. Assigns and oversees work and training of lower-level mechanics. Performs a variety of tasks requiring specialized knowledge and skills. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness.
