As a Senior Innovation Engineer on the Front-End Innovation team, you will identify real user problems and translate them into breakthrough product concepts that define our future portfolio. You will operate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, supporting projects from early discovery through concept development, validation, and handoff. Y ou wi ll define our next generation of tools and solutions by : Build ing and iterat ing prototypes, leveraging 3D modeling, simulation, and rapid prototyping tools Generat ing and refin ing concept s in ambiguous problem spaces using structured ideation and good engineering judgment Participat ing in and t ranslat ing field research into user feedback , observation s , and actionable insights Perform ing engineering analysis to evaluate feasibility, performance, risk, and design tradeoffs Driving c ollaborat i on with product marketing, design research, industrial design, NPD/ADV engineering, and project leadership to push the boundaries of innovation Communicat ing clearly to stakeholders, including design intent, tradeoffs, progress, and recommendations Defin ing and e valuat ing critical user benefits , business fit , and technical feasibility What TOOLS You Bring Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Mechatronics , or related field 5+ years of experience in product development, innovation, or concept engineering, with demonstrated ability to deliver innovative solutions . Experience on front end innovation teams prefer red. Strong and evolving foundation in engineering fundamentals (mechanics, materials, analysis, tolerancing, statics, dynamics, and manufacturing processes ) Experience creating and using prototypes, models, or other tools to drive learning and decision-making Demonstrated ability to utilize CAD , Analysis Tools, 3D Printing, rapid prototyping methods , and office suite Ability to leverage strategy-level critical thinking skills that span disciplines to ensure the right ideas move forward A curious , hands-on attitude driven by extreme ownership and bias toward action Ability to operate with speed, agility, and urgency in a fast-paced , multidisciplinary environment High interest in tools of trade and improving how the y are employed Ability to travel 10 -20 % of the time (domestic and international Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
