About the role
General Overview The Lead Regas and Commissioning Engineer is a key member of the S2T FSRU Project execution team, responsible for leading and assuring the commissioning, start-up, and initial operation of the FSRU regasification systems and associated interfaces with onshore facilities. The candidate shall have FSRU regas commissioning experience, working closely with the Shipyard, Ship Owner and Managers, EPC contractors, and SLNG site team to achieve safe mechanical completion, commissioning, gas-in, and performance testing, leading to a smooth handover to operations. Roles and Responsibilities The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties: Regas Interface & Integration Management Ensure effective integration between FSRU and onshore connecting infrastructure (OCI) across all systems for the whole duration of execution phase of the project. Coordinate commissioning interfaces across process, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, marine, and control systems. Support resolution of interface issues affecting safety, schedule, or operability. Commissioning, Start-up and Performance Testing Delivery Support SLNG FSRU Commissioning Manager in the commissioning, start-up and performance testing activities for FSRU regasification, LNG storage, BOG handling and associated systems. Deputizes for SLNG FSRU Commissioning Manager as the regas commissioning Charterer focla point between Ship Owner and Shipyard. Review FSRU interface for S2T integrated commissioning and integrated tests. Work closely with Ship Owner to ensure FSRU commissioning, commissioning tests and performance tests are well integrated to the integrated commissioning program. Technical Assurance & Safety Ensure commissioning activities comply with process safety, permit-to-work, SIMOPS, and marine safety requirements. Participate actively in 3rd parties workshop reviews, commissioning risk assessments, and pre-start-up safety reviews (PSSR). Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical leadership during commissioning upsets or abnormal conditions. Review, comment and endorse commissioning procedures, test packs, and start-up sequences related to regas systems. Lead gas-in readiness reviews, hot commissioning, cold commissioning, performance testing, and reliability runs. FSRU Documentations & Handover Verify commissioning dossiers, test results, and punch list closure for regas-related systems. Review and support the development of operating procedures, start-up manuals, and emergency responses procedures relevant to regas and operations. Continuous Improvement & Issue Resolution Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the design, engineering, construction, and commissioning phases, ensuring the project's seamless progress and operational integrity. Provide support for troubleshooting complex technical issues, ensuring minimal impact on timelines and quality. Take initiative in suggesting improvements to processes, procedures, and practices, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the project. Undertake any other tasks as directed by the reporting manager to support project objectives. Work Experiences 10-20 years of relevant experience in LNG, FSRU, LNG Carrier, FLNG, or LNG terminal projects. Proven experience leading commissioning and start-up of LNG regasification systems. Strong hands-on knowledge of: LNG REGAS process systems and controls Direct experience working on-site during commissioning phases is essential. Experience working with shipyards, shipowners, class societies, and regulators. Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent. Chief Engineer, Captain, Senior Marine Engineer, or LNG Process Specialist background is highly advantageous. Relevant LNG / process safety certifications are a plus.
