About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to oversee tendering, cost estimation, contract administration and project cost control for construction projects in Singapore. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants and project teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tender documents, quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates and tender submissions
- Source, evaluate and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Review tender and contract documents, identify discrepancies and seek necessary clarifications
- Manage project budgeting, cost control, cash flow forecasting and financial reporting
- Prepare and administer progress claims, variation orders (VO) and final accounts
- Prepare Letters of Intent (LOI), Letters of Award (LOA) and subcontract documentation
- Evaluate and certify subcontractors' claims and variation works
- Conduct site measurements, site visits and attend project meetings when required
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies and industry regulations
- Perform other quantity surveying duties assigned by Management
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience in Singapore's construction industry
- Strong experience in tendering, cost estimation, budgeting, cost control and contract administration
- Good understanding of progress claims, variation orders and final accounts
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity surveying or cost-estimating software
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Self-motivated, meticulous and able to work independently
- Experience handling construction projects in Singapore
- Familiarity with local construction contracts, regulations and industry practices
- Proven ability to manage project costs and budgets effectively
