Accounts Executive (Shipping / East / Up to $4k + VB)

Responsibilities

• Maintain full set of accounts, including General Ledger, AP, and AR
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and manage month-end closing
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Record and monitor vessel-related income and expenses (e.g., charter hire, bunkers, port charges)
• Track time charter revenue and voyage-related costs
• Support vessel budgeting and monitor financial performance
• Analyze variances and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Issue invoices to charterers and clients and manage billing accuracy
• Follow up on outstanding receivables and manage collections
• Process vendor invoices and payments to ship managers, agents, and suppliers
• Handle hire statements, off-hire calculations, and settlements
• Perform additional ad-hoc accounting duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2-5 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including double-entry and financial statements
• Experience in shipping, maritime, logistics, or commodity trading industries is preferred
• Familiarity with vessel accounting or shipping-related transactions is an added advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
