Responsibilities

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized, high-quality care to critically ill or premature newborns , ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to support families during a challenging time.
  • Responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates , including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining specialized equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.
  • Perform detailed assessments of neonates physical and emotional health, identifying any changes in condition and responding promptly.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide parental education and emotional support, fostering a family-centered care approach to help parents understand their baby's condition and participate in their care.
  • Utilize advanced NICU technology and equipment to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care.
  • Assist in preparing neonates for procedures or surgeries and provide post-procedure care.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the NICU environment is clean and safe.
  • Sign on and relocation bonuses available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
  • 6 Months of nights required to start
  • NRP and PALS after time of hire
