Staff Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect and build Coupang's Messaging and Caching Platform.
• Write durable code with the ability to process tera-bytes and peta-bytes each day.
• Keep improving our platform stability, performance and achieving 99.99% to 99.999% availability with smooth operations.
• Work closely with Coupang internal and external Customers and wow them with our cutting-edging products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• BS or advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
• Solid (AWS) cloud background on both software development and operations
• Expertise in distributed systems and computing frameworks like Kafka, Spark, etc.
• Team player and fast learner with the ability to quickly triage and troubleshoot complex problems
• Strong ownership and be passionate about applying new technologies to real products
• 8+ years of experience in designing, developing and maintaining large-scale software infrastructures

Your core mission is to provide company-wide and generic platform solutions with super high scalability, reliability and availability to unleash the productivity of Customer teams.
