As a Senior Hardware Engineer , you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the hardware circuitry of controls and PCBAs that are embedded within our commercial foodservice appliances. You will drive collaboration with cross-functional teams, leverage technical strategy and best practices, and lead the successful execution of projects. In this role, you will further develop technical subject-matter expertise while contributing significantly to MFT's growth and innovation. This role is subject to our hybrid work model: we collaborate in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The rest of the week, you have flexibility to work wherever it suits you best.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and execute large core or derivative programs by defining project objectives, creating project plans, and establishing timelines and milestones
  • Lead complex product development programs by driving development and validation of the product or subsystems using standard methodologies like Concept Selection, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, and Design Validation Plans
  • Perform system level design, testing, and validation for beverage/dispensing, cooking, refrigeration, frozen, or other related products
  • Perform radiated emissions, conducted emissions, and immunity/susceptibility testing using specialized lab equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, EMI receivers).
  • Participate in design process, testing, and reviews for electronic components and sensors across all product lines as a functional lead
  • Lead complex 8D issue resolution projects by defining the approach and actions
  • Utilize mathematical and computer-based engineering analyses to design innovative and reliable solutions for electronic systems
  • Develop technical drawings, models, and specifications using engineering software and tools
  • Conduct testing, collect and analyze data, and interpret test results to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of engineering solutions
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, identify areas for improvement, develop plan and implement design modifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are met

  • Skills/Experience We're Looking For
  • Experience with schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB layout, prototyping, debugging, verification
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, layout, and other design related tools and applications (e.g., Altium, Cadence, etc.)
  • Experience developing control boards with several of the following electrical components and systems: controls, sensors, touch screens/displays, motors, infotainment, power supplies, wire harness, converters, inverters, gauges, switches, etc.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, physics, and concepts
  • Experience with common test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, DVM, Logic Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer)
  • Electronic fabrication experience (e.g., soldering fine pitch parts, harness building, prototype fabrication)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly and to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong experience in EMI/EMC testing, compliance validation, and troubleshooting to support product certification and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on knowledge of FCC, CE, CISPR, and IEC standards, with the ability to develop test plans and drive system-level design improvements for EMC performance.
