Responsibilities
- -Design, plan, conduct and coordinate field preparation, planting, cultivation and harvesting operations.
- Determines the needs of pesticide and fertilizer and their application programs.

- -Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.
- -Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- -Field research experience with cotton or row crop production.
- -Experience operating agricultural equipment including tractors and field implements.
- -Agricultural equipment maintenance and repair experience.
- -Irrigation system design, installation, and management experience.
- -GPS and precision agriculture technology experience.
- -Supervisory or training experience with student workers.
- Required Licenses or Certifications:
- -Pesticide application certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months of start date) a Texas Noncommercial Political Subdivision (NCPS) Pesticide Applicator License.
- Preferred Licenses or Certifications:
- -Ability to obtain valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Other Requirements:
- Individual must be able to work under adverse outdoor conditions including high heat, humidity, and variable weather.
- -Ability to lift and carry heavy objects greater than 50 lbs.
- -Ability to work closely with cotton fiber, agricultural chemicals, or plant materials.
