About the role

The Technical Program Management (TPM) team at Stack is a high-caliber, close-knit group of industry veterans with deep expertise spanning autonomous vehicles, commercial robotics, and startups. We operate as trusted strategic advisors to leadership, leveraging our technical background and talent for leading through influence to align diverse, elite engineering teams toward a shared vision. As organizational multipliers, we own the execution of Stack's most complex, ambiguous, and high-stakes cross-functional programs. Leadership trusts us with the keys to our commercial autonomy roadmap, relying on our ability to break down silos, bridge hardware and software ecosystems, and synthesize executive strategy into operational reality. We don't just manage timelines; we design the communication loops and engineering frameworks that amplify the output of the entire organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution and communication of major, high-stakes cross-functional programs that require end-to-end alignment across the entire organization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical roadmaps and tactical schedules, balancing near-term delivery milestones with Stack's long-term commercial autonomy vision.
  • Build deep, trust-based relationships with diverse cross-functional stakeholders to align engineering teams, push technical paths forward, and unify the organization around shared goals.
  • Analyze plans and requirements with engineering leads to uncover opportunities, challenge assumptions, and safely accelerate the development and deployment schedule.
  • Evaluate complex technical and resource trade-offs in constrained environments, framing clear choices and recommendations for leadership.
  • Synthesize granular technical progress into high-impact insights for senior leadership, delivering data-driven arguments that help executives make difficult decisions in reviews and all-hands.
  • Design and scale engineering processes within your programs, establishing operational frameworks that reduce friction and elevate efficiency across the broader organization.
  • Explore new, highly complex technical domains as needed, stepping in proactively to fill leadership, execution, or process gaps to ensure program success.

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a hands on engineer prior to becoming a TPM required in robotics, automotive, aerospace or technology domains is desired.
  • Proven experience managing the integration of highly complex, multi-domain technical systems.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively presenting to and interacting with executive leadership in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with typical agile software development lifecycles and waterfall hardware development lifecycles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to build deep, trusting relationships.
  • The ability to digest dense, complex technical discussions and accurately extract core conclusions, action items, and trade-offs.
  • A hyper-organized mindset focusing with breath and depth on the technical details.
  • Mastery over standard TPM toolbox (Managing burndown lists, Developing Roadmaps, building dependency maps, running workshops, and using the right amount of process in Jira).
  • A proactive personal quality characterized by a willingness to fearlessly jump into unknown areas and learn new technical domains quickly.
  • We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We believe that diverse teams produce the best ideas and outcomes. We are committed to building a culture of inclusion, entrepreneurship, and innovation across gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and identity.
