Job Description Reporting to the Senior Director, Head of Commercial Development, UK & Ireland (UK&I) this role provides senior commercial leadership, financial expertise and independent business decision-making support across complex and strategic commercial projects in UK&I. The role is accountable for shaping deal strategy, driving high-quality commercial outcomes, and ensuring robust governance, financial discipline and accountability across a number of key UK&I client deals. The Director is also responsible for shaping and evolving UK & Ireland strategy related to pricing, translating strategic priorities into tangible business plans, and driving rigorous execution against growth, revenue diversification, pricing priorities and scorecard objectives. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and partners closely with the GCM and Ireland Country Manager, account teams and functional leaders across UK & Ireland and Europe to deliver high quality commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial strategy, scenario analysis and financial framing for a portfolio of UK&I client deals and initiatives; develop and review complex business cases, and lead preparation of materials required for regional and global executive-level governance and approvals.
  • Own end-to-end commercial leadership across a portfolio of strategic deals, partnerships and RFPs, extending beyond pure financial modelling into proposition shaping, value articulation and client alignment.
  • Independently originate, analyze and interpret complex data sets, build market-level analytics and deal benchmarking insight to support decision-making, portfolio performance management and executive storytelling.
  • Provide deep commercial insight, deal benchmarking and market intelligence to influence UK&I commercial strategy and client engagement priorities.
  • Alongside Europe Pricing teams, shape, translate and execute the Visa pricing strategy at a UK & Ireland level through a cohesive, integrated and data-led approach across the short, medium and long term to drive sustained revenue growth, client relevance and business performance.
  • Partner with cluster, regional and functional stakeholders to develop strategic pricing frameworks, commercial priorities and execution plans that align near-term delivery with longer-term growth ambitions.
  • Develop insight-led strategic recommendations and thought leadership to help identify new opportunities, respond to market dynamics and support the continued growth of the UK & Ireland business.
  • Own AE and BD training / collateral around pricing announcements
  • Set high standards of commercial discipline, accountability and decision quality across UK&I, proactively challenging assumptions and driving continuous improvement in Commercial Development quality and execution.
  • Contribute to cluster business planning cycles, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into clear plans, milestones, targets and cross-functional actions.
  • Be curious about the UK & Ireland external environments, tracking market dynamics, regulatory developments and competitive trends, and ensuring these are clearly reflected in commercial recommendations.
  • Initiate and drive improvements, including using AI tools, to deal processes, data and governance frameworks at local, regional and global level, contributing to a simpler, more scalable global commercial model.
  • Provide ad-hoc strategy and leadership support, operating as a trusted partner across the broader UK & Ireland leadership agenda.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Advanced academic qualifications preferably covering business-related subjects.
