Accountant

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and payment processing.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• General Ledger: Maintain the general ledger by posting and verifying transactions.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements and other accounts.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and report variances.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Audit and Internal Controls: Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and support company initiatives.
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (i.e., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working Conditions:
• Office environment with occasional travel as required.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end close.
