Responsibilities
- Location: Hybrid, 4 days per week in Boston, MA
- Reports to: Director, Supply Chain Controllership

- Lead inventory reserve management - review and maintain excess and obsolescence reserves, produce reserve summary reports, and support inventory reconciliation activities including segment, sub-assembly, and raw material to WIP movements.
- Drive cost variance analysis - monitor and analyze purchase price, production, and quantity variances; identify root causes; and communicate findings clearly to business partners and leadership.
- Support standard cost processes - assist with standard cost uploads in the ERP system, including monthly bill-of-materials (BOM) reviews, new SKU setups, and ongoing variance monitoring.
- Prepare management reporting packages - collect and analyze cost data to support business decision-making; prepare periodic cost variance reports comparing standard to actual costs across global manufacturing operations.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness - perform account reconciliations, document cost accounting processes and journal entries in adherence to internal controls, and support SOX testing, GAAP audits, and annual physical inventory count activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally - partner with FP&A, Global Supply Chain Controllership, and Operations to explain budget-to-actual variances and serve as a trusted resource on cost accounting treatment, inventory transactions, and ERP-related questions.
- Contribute to process improvement - as this team scales, proactively identify opportunities to streamline close processes, improve reporting accuracy, and build scalable cost accounting infrastructure.
- What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required - CPA or CMA in progress or completed is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or supply chain finance - or equivalent relevant experience in a high-growth or operationally complex environment.
- Solid GAAP foundation - hands-on experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and financial close processes; familiarity with SOX compliance and audit support.
- ERP proficiency - experience working in a major ERP system (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) for journal entries, BOM reviews, standard cost uploads, and inventory transactions.
- Analytical and detail-oriented - comfortable working with large datasets, building reconciliations, and communicating complex cost drivers to non-finance stakeholders with clarity.
- Advanced Excel skills - proficiency with complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and financial modeling; experience with AI analytics tools is highly valued.
