Facing challenging weather and difficult mountain terrain, our snowmakers perform the physically demanding job of tending to our snowmaking equipment. The Snowmaking Controller plays a critical role in delivering the high-quality terrain Eldora guests expect each season. Working primarily overnight in challenging mountain conditions, this position is responsible for operating and monitoring snowmaking systems, including pumps, compressors, and water delivery infrastructure, to maximize production and efficiency. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: Perform job duties in a safe manner according to departmental training and procedures Understand the system components for water and air delivery Properly operate water pumps and air compressors for maximum production and efficiency React to and troubleshoot snowmaking system issues Assist in the charging and draining of snowmaking pipelines Maintain proper injection rate of snowmaking water additive Maintain radio contact with the on-hill crew & c ommunicate availability of resources to on-hill crew (air and water) Relay weather changes to on-hill crew Follow confined space entry protocol, be able to relieve system pressure if need arises Keep work areas clear of snow and ice Maintain thorough shift records A ssist Snowmaking Management in maintaining all department recor d s Complete Facilities and Vehicle Inspections and oversee cleanliness of the pumphouse , compressor pad and other snowmaking facilities Generate the daily management report Communicate any equipment issues to department manager/equipment manager Assist in pumphouse duties such as rolling snowmaking hose Assist in training of seasonal controllers Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures, actively contributing to a safe working environment for self, coworkers, and guests. This includes choosing alternative transportation, carpooling, using the employee shuttle, and avoiding onsite parking on weekends and peak days. These actions help reduce Scope 3 emissions, lead by example, and ensure adequate parking for guests. Specific Job Skills: A valid Driver's License & the a bility to pass MVR check that meet company standards Must be 18 to operate company vehicles Be on time for your scheduled shift- dressed and ready at the start of the shift Lead/participate in the daily safety meeting & accomplishment of daily operational objectives Meet assigned schedule, pick up extra shifts as needed & communicate with the Department Manager if unable to meet assigned schedule Maintain a positive attitude & help foster a team environment Operate a truck, 4-wheeler and/or a snowmobile, on occasion Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required by resort operations. Physical Demands: Work for 12-hour shifts Stand on concrete floor for many hours throughout shift Sit at computer for several hours during shift Walk from pumphouse to compressor pad many times throughout shift (800 feet round-trip) Walk through deep snow and on icy surfaces at times (winter season) Walk on uneven, rocky, or muddy terrain and loose footing surfaces at times (s
