Job Profile: Pediatric Cardiology Faculty - Open Rank | Department of Pediatrics | Division of Cardiology | Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program Position Summary: The Department of Pediatrics , Division of Cardiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children's Wisconsin (CW), seeks a board certified / board eligible physician to join our expanding Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program . This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at the Children's Wisconsin hospital campus. We are comprised of nationally and internationally renowned, dedicated group of faculty and staff with a strong commitment to clinical care. Position Highlights: Provide clinical care for complex adult congenital heart disease patients across inpatient (CICU/acute care) and outpatient settings. Participate in a multidisciplinary ACHD team including cardiologists, APPs, nurse coordinators, and surgeons. Contribute to teaching, research, and program growth, with effort tailored to interests and institutional needs. Integrate into the Herma Heart Institute, supporting a high-volume, comprehensive congenital heart program. Work primarily in Milwaukee, with outreach as needed to Northeast Wisconsin and the Madison area, supporting regional collaboration through the Forward Pediatric Alliance. Performs other duties as assigned by Chair or Chair-Designate. Schedule: Full time Adult Congenital Heart Disease call approximately 1 in 5 nights as secons call Salaried (Exempt) Department/Division Highlights: The Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program at Children's Wisconsin provides comprehensive, longitudinal care for a diverse population of patients, including those with complex and high-risk congenital heart disease. Clinical services encompass inpatient consultative care in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and Acute Cardiac Unit, as well as specialized ACHD outpatient clinics held multiple times each week. Care is delivered primarily at Children's Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital, allowing for seamless integration of pediatric and adult congenital services across the care continuum. The successful candidate will join a well-established, multidisciplinary ACHD team that includes five experienced adult congenital cardiologists, two nurse practitioners, three dedicated nurse coordinators, and three congenital heart surgeons. This collaborative environment supports high-quality clinical care, programmatic growth, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives. In addition to ACHD responsibilities, the candidate will be integrated into the Pediatric Cardiology Division within the Herma Heart Institute (HHI). Pediatric clinical roles and responsibilities will be tailored to the candidate's interests, training background, and institutional needs. The HHI represents one of the largest and most comprehensive congenital heart programs in the region, comprising three congenital heart surgeons, 30 pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists, eight pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, 11 pediatric intensivists, 22 advanced practice providers, and a total workforce exceeding 300 members. The HHI also has a strong academic and research mission, with eight research-intensive principal investigators leading multiple active NIH-funded and equivalent projects, as well as a robust quality and outcomes program. Research activities are supported through the Children's Research Institute of Children's Wisconsin. In 2025, the HHI received more than $58 million in endowed funds through partnership with the Children's Wisconsin Foundation to support research, education, and clinical innovation, with a strategic emphasis on precision medicine and tissue engineering related to congenital heart disease. Through the Forward Pediatric Alliance (FPA)-a collaborative partnership between the Herma Heart Institute at Children's Wisconsin and UW Health Kids/American Family Children's Hospital-the program benefits from a strong regional network and meaningful opportunities for cross-institutional clinical, educational, and research collaboration.
