About the role
The Global Business and Corporate Development (BCD) team is a small group of experienced deal professionals responsible for DoorDash's most complex and consequential partnerships. Operating across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo, we architect first-of-kind commercial models from first principles where conventional playbooks are insufficient to move the needle. We work directly with business owners to identify growth constraints, then orchestrate the bespoke deal mechanics and cross-functional alignment required to convert ambiguous opportunities into measurably accretive partnerships. Operating within the Global BCD organization, you will be the primary commercial counterpart to executive and functional leadership across the DashPass and Growth teams in the United States and Canada. As Deal Lead, your mandate is to architect the first-of-kind partnerships required to solve our most complex growth constraints. You will own the entire deal trajectory-from initial commercial thesis through partner selection, first-principles deal structuring, and negotiation, to launch and impact. This is a mandate for a deal professional who exercises elite commercial judgment to decide where we invest and how we ensure those bets deliver measurable results. You're excited about this opportunity because you will... Originate commercial theses : Partner with DoorDash leadership to diagnose growth constraints and originate the commercial theses required to unlock significant incremental impact from partnerships. Build from first principles : Structure first-of-kind commercial partnerships for situations where conventional playbooks are insufficient to move the needle. Align executive and functional leadership : Develop trusted relationships with leaders across Product, Finance, Marketing and Strategy & Operations to secure the resourcing and internal commitment required to bring complex deals to life. Lead high-stakes negotiations: Act as the primary representative of DoorDash with senior counterparts at global platforms and significant local players. Close great deals: Partner with Legal to translate commercial terms into clear, enforceable agreements that remove execution ambiguity, embed measurable success criteria, and appropriately calibrate risk. Own partnership outcomes: Champion the deal's success from initial thesis to measurable impact, ensuring the partnership stays aligned with your strategic vision as execution moves to cross-functional teams and partner management. Shape the partnership roadmap: Surface market signals and competitive insights to define and prioritize the partnership roadmap for the DashPass and Growth teams, serving as a key contributor to each team's strategic plans. We're excited about you because... You possess seasoned commercial judgment and a track record of execution: You bring 10+ years of experience closing complex, non-standard deals within high-scale digital platforms, consumer marketplaces or financial services firms. You convert ambiguity into a thesis: You excel at translating growth constraints into clear commercial models and partnership strategies that executives and technical teams can rally behind. You influence without authority: You navigate sophisticated, multi-faceted organizations to pull stakeholders together, aligning disparate internal views into a single, unified deal thesis. You are trusted to work independently with minimal oversight. You are a master of the deal: You are a seasoned negotiator comfortable driving the deal process from ideation to execution, in close partnership with key cross-functional resources. You know when to lean in and when to say no: You prioritize and close the right deals that deliver maximum impact for the business, and decline opportunities that won't move the needle. You have strong executive presence: You engage directly with C-suite counterparts at global platforms and significant local brands, driving results through the strength of the relationships you build.
